OK - so I am supposed to be feeding my toy 1/3 cup per day which translates to 1.3 ounces twice daily! Wow - that seems like nothing! Will someone verify that for me. She has been putting on weight and guess what? Seems like hubby has been feeding her 1/3 C twice day. We also give her a cut up fresh string bean and just a tiny bit of chicken....
She weighs 8.4 and must lose some weight so that is why we are putting her on this amount.

My 2 toy poodles are free fed. They eat as much as they like with their treat dispensers. And for breakfast they get homemade dehydrated meats (again as much as they want). They don't tend to over eat. I thought it was a poodle thing. Stop when they r full and extremely picky since I have 2 that r like that. Lol

That doesn't seem a lot to me. Zoe is coming up on a year and eats 1/3 twice a day. She weighs a little over 8 lbs. The vet is pleased with her weight and her eating for now.

I fill their bowls in the morning if the are acting hungry when I get home I'll give them more, but they usually don't eat till I'm home.
Don't follow the directions on the bag they are trying to sell dog food.
Feed what they will eat in about 20 minutes. If they are looking for more give them some. Imho
